As Vice President of Global Sales for VCollab, Steve Brown is responsible for growing the company’s customer base. Steve has more than 30 years of experience in PLM and CAE sales. Let’s learn a little more about him with four quick questions.
Hi Steve. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Absolutely. My professional career began at SDRC where I spent 12 years. I began in technical sales before moving on to lead the company’s Ford C3P Global Supplier deployment. From there I moved into sales leadership. Aside from SDRC, I’ve held Vice President roles with Dassault Systemes, MSC Software, and other technology-based organizations.
On a personal level, I’m a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Today I live in Michigan with my wife and our four children.
I bet you didn’t always want to be in sales. What other careers did you consider while growing up?
That’s right. Like all kids I guess I had my sights set on many of the usual occupations while growing up. But the one I really had my heart set on was to become a commercial airline pilot. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
What do you enjoy most about working at VCollab?
VCollab is an exciting opportunity for me. I enjoy the working environment, my co-workers, the challenges of scaling the company, and sharing our disruptive technology message with new companies. Our technology is making a real difference for a lot of manufacturers and product development organizations and I’m excited to be a part of that.
OK, last question. Enough about work. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have several interests away from the office. Living in Michigan offers a lot of recreational options and I’m fortunate to have an opportunity to golf and ski in some really nice places. I also enjoy cooking.
We like to travel when we get the chance. Some of my favorite places to visit are Mexico and Portugal.
